Toyota has called the bluff of the stick-demanding public and dropped a six-speed into the A91 chassis.
Will the dismissing public consider it a “real” Supra now? Is it better? Worse?
Let’s take a lap around on the west loop of Utah Motorsports Campus and discuss.

JG's good at running laps.

I don't know if the Supra will ever truly depreciate with the way the market is, but if it does I'm snatching up a Supra.

Must say that the track looks a bit boring, but then most of my racing has been at tracks that had significant elevation change (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nz0xhf9KeGY )
Love the sound of the engine on that car though!

Due to a technical glitch, the first version of that video that I proofed didn't have any sound. It was still rather relaxing to watch.

One-gear track. Is it really a fair comparison if there's no shifting required? Or does that just mean the gearing is perfect?

I had no idea MacGyver was a racer.

At first it seemed a little weird to show off a new manual transmission on a track configuration that didn't require shifting, but it was also an amazing demo of the flexibility and thrust of that 387hp (hahaha yeah right) engine. It was also a reminder that the auto could have been cycling between gears in spots, and the ample thrust of the motor made that type of shifting seem unnecessary.

What are your thoughts on driving this car auto vs manual? How do the lap times compare?

This is only the west track it has 4 configurations. yes it does not have lots of elevation but some very fast sweeping corners and some very technical sections specifically the east track. it has East, West, Full, Outer and the full is over 4 miles... Its way better than this video shows.
