Why get a floor coating for your garage or workspace? Materials like concrete easily stain and can make cleaning up spills difficult.
Not sure which coating to pick? Here are a few reasons why we chose Rust Bullet DuraGrade floor coatings to use in his new car barn.

After much research I decided to have professionally applied epoxy to protect my new garage floor from the 4-5 months of road salt brought in by the cars. I am very happy with the result. However, I discovered the boat trailer tires left a permanent stain on the epoxy and snow (even small amounts) makes the surface a skating rink even with the applied grit. I select 4 wheel drive to bring the Tacoma into the garage. The rear drive mode just spins the tires as soon as it contacts the epoxy if there is snow on the tire surface. Walking in from outside requires a thorough cleaning of the soles of your boots or your will slip without warning and end up on the floor. Staying in Ormond Beach presently but I will have face the problem again in March.

I did polyurea last fall. Here's my thread on the topic. No issues with slipping so far this winter, but I did go a bit nuts with the traction grit stuff.

Only way to do it is pay the man - the DIY experience is going to be a disappointment. If the man doesnt blast and scarify the surface prior to application, you're gonna have a bad time.

I've done it twice and had no issues, but both houses were new. That definitely helps.

Disagree, I've DIY'd 3 different shops now. First 2 were older floors not clean pristine concrete and the most recent was a fresh pour. All have held up fabulously and not been a disappointment. As always, prep is key.
