Building a motorcycle from scratch? Why use just any motorcycle engine when you could use an engine from a car?
And why settle for a gas-powered engine when you could go with a diesel power plant instead?
Well, that's pretty much what YouTube channel BelarusCustoms is building: A motorcycle constructed around a 1.4-liter VW TDI engine.
Based on the beginning of the first video, the motorcycle appears to run. Part 1 can be watched above, and you can view part 2 here and part 3 here.

I had a dream (nightmare) about something similar. All these obnoxiously loud Harleys that were also rolling coal. Ugh!

That's interesting. The military had some diesel kawasawki's back in the day for scout work. They seem to be hard to keep running now and rare.

There was a local guy here in the Minneapolis area who built a diesel sport bike some years ago. If I remember correctly he used an engine out of a Bobcat loader or something similar. His bike was pretty well engineered and sorted out.

Lets just hope it's a electric start. At 16/1 CR , you'd have to be Andre the Giant to kick start it.

I'm mostly curious how the transmission is going to hold up to actually utilizing that torque.
