I think the biggest revelation since my first installment is the wet weather performance with the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti tires.
Shortly after my first write up, I had lots of great dry weather miles and really enjoyed the performance but was wanting for some rain. Finally, a couple weeks after my first write up, we got rain! I progressively tested their level of adhesion on that first wet drive and I was VERY impressed with their wet traction.
I’ve logged about 2500 miles on the tires in the first three months, but there was a little change in-between : Late summer before I knew I’d be testing these tires, I sort of ended up putting in a factory order for a new 2019 MX-5 RF. Thanksgiving day my ship literally came in and on Black Friday a brand spanking new RF Club arrived at my dealership and I bought it!
So after only a month after mounting the tires on the 2016 MX-5, I traded it in for the 2019. That gave me an opportunity to drive the new car on its OEM Potenzas for about month until I had time to mount up the Vredesteins, giving me a great chance to compare between the two brands once again.
Still digging the grip of these Vredestein Ultrac Vorti, still just as good as the OEM Bridgestone Potenzas for my everyday driving. Even scored a GRM Experience ticket for this year’s Rolex 24, so we drove it up there and back three of those days.
