I can't even imagine what it'll be like. I'm 9 days away...not that I'm counting... from being able to flog the Z06 and am chomping at the bit. I can dream of the ZR1

The forthcoming Corvette ZR1 will be a turbocharged monstrosity built in Bowling Green that will undoubtedly be one of the fastest cars on the planet when it drops later this year, with 1064 horsepower on tap right off the showroom floor. Chevy is expected to open up ordering this month, with first deliveries expected to take place by summer.
At a starting list price of $174,995 (likely a marketing ploy because it sounds more affordable than just saying $175,000 for bargain-conscious shoppers of 1000+ horsepower sports cars), the ZR1 is pricey but should perform on par with factory supercars that regularly trade in the high six- or even low seven-figure range. Of course, that’s before dealer markups, which will be inevitable, particularly on early delivery examples.
[How much will the new Corvette ZR1 cost?]
Anyway, even though you’re probably not going to buy one because you need to do things like live and buy food, you can now head over to Chevy’s site and configure your own ZR1.
The Chevy site doesn’t even give the pricing in the configurator, instead directing the buyer to the dealer where they will likely be bent over a table, but hopefully for a base price that’s greater than the median list price of a home in Rockford, Illinois, it will at least be a mahogany table.
Still, there were a few interesting tidbits we picked up from the configurator. Like there’s just not a lot of options available for the ZR1. You basically choose 1LZ or 3LZ trim, the latter of which gets you Bose sound and a few unique interior color options. The juicy options are available on either trim, which includes the ZTK Track Performance Package, which seems like a relative bargain at only $1500, and the Carbon Fiber Aero Package for $8495.
The Track Package includes 275/30ZR20 front and 345/25ZR21 rear Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires, stiffer springs and Magnetic Selective Ride Control, as well as specific calibrations for the traction and stability systems. The Aero package gets you a huge wing and dive planes.
Time will tell how many ZR1s actually find their way to tracks, but we hope at least a few show us what they’re capable of. In the meantime, you can go build your own and tell us what your favorite color is and why it’s Sebring Orange Tintcoat.

I know nobody is getting one at or around MSRP so I am not interested but I am happy that Z06's are starting to show up with discounts now and really think that could be my next Corvette. I do wish they had a true copper wheel color for the purple and that they made a white seat option and not the off gray to go with the purple. I want a 80's Lambo color combo so bad.
I sat in a Corvette last week at the Chicago Auto Show and my head stuck up outside the car.
Not a car for tall guys?

How tall are you. I was super happy in my coupe at 6 foot and had a few people at 6' 2 that were fine as well.

Aaaaaaand I broke the configurator before I could finish the "retired surgeon at the country club" configuration I was working on.

Copper would look way cool with the purple.
I want something like this. But again with the gold or bronze wheels. I cannot do it with the custom config and I think the light silver leather is now the replacement for the white for the Zr1 and Z06/7
Z07's are touching 125-130K in the convertibles with minimal miles and I really want to pull the trigger but the Blackwing search is still gong on and the money will go to that.
