Field Trip: SpeedSource Racing Auction

Remember the big news from a few months ago, when Mazda announced they were leaving SpeedSource Racing and handing the reigns of their prototype racing effort to Joest Racing? Well, next week marks the definitive end of the story. As SpeedSource’s owner put it, there’s no other manufacturer willing to compete at the same level as Mazda, meaning the team won’t have much to do unless another manufacturer decides to jump ship like Mazda did in July. They’ve decided to cease operations for the time being.
