If you are anything like us, you may be mourning the death of the Elantra GT in the United States. You’ll be happy to know, however, that the N-Line version of the hatchback will live on—just without the hatch.

Enter the Hyundai Elantra N-Line. Powered by the 1.6-liter, turbocharged inline-four found in the likes of the Veloster Turbo, Kia Soul Exclaim (!) and the late Elantra GT N-Line, the venerable turbo-four is good for 201 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque according to Hyundai.

A genuine six-speed manual can be had, alongside a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Hyundai also notes that the suspension has been retuned for more stiffness, and larger front brakes have been added to improve braking.

After driving a 2019 Elantra Sport with a manual transmission, we're eager to see how this new N-Line model stacks up against the competition.
