Does anybody really need 518 horsepower and a big rear wing that sits higher than the roof to go to Piggly Wiggly and back? Not really, but that hasn’t stopped Porsche from pushing the GT3 envelope even further by introducing the 911 GT3 RS.
More powerful than the “standard” GT3 by 16 more horsepower, the GT3 RS comes powered by a naturally-aspirated, 4.0-liter engine upgraded with new camshafts with modified cam profiles. In total, this allows the car to hit 60 mph in under 3 seconds, and continue to accelerate–through all seven of the PDK’s gears–to a top speed of 184 mph.
Borrowing a bunch of tech from the winning 911 RSR and GT3 R racers, the new RS features a single angled radiator in the car’s nose, adjustable elements on the front and rear wing, a drag reduction system and even an intake on the underside of the car to help cool the close-ratio gearbox.
Connecting the Porsche to the road is a set of 275/35R20 front and 335/30R21 rear tires wrapped around alloy center-locking wheels. Stopping is handled by ceramic composite brakes measuring 16 inches up front and 15 inches in the rear.
Still not enough for you? There’s also the optional Weissach package:
The Weissach package, which is available at extra cost, includes a considerable number of changes to the standard vehicle. The hood, roof, parts of the rear wing and the upper portion of the side mirrors housing feature visible carbon fiber.
The front and rear anti-roll bars, the rear coupling rods and the shear panel on the rear axle are made of CFRP and contribute to a further enhancement of the driving dynamics. Another highlight of the Weissach package is the PDK shift paddles with motorsport-derived magnet technology. This makes gear changes feel especially precise thanks to a pressure point and a clearly perceptible click. Forged magnesium wheels are included in the Weissach package and save 17.6 lbs of unspring weight compared to the standard wheels.
So how much does this all cost? Approximately 8 brand-new Miatas, or $223,800. Look for it in a Porsche dealership near you starting in the Spring of 2023.

That thing is wild, I bet it sounds glorious on a track.
If I won the lottery, this is the car I'd buy. Although in a 100% ideal world, this would be offered with a manual. I think the non-RS version may come with a stick?

I've driven an earlier one on track and at that time made the comment
"sell your house live under the freeway but do whatever you have to to get one"
They are that good.
I was at the 2019 Virginia City Hillclimb and a Porsche GT2 RS showed up. It was an unbeatable combination of this car and a very good pilot, setting a new course record, previously held by a Ferrari F40 on race tires. It was, and is, as the Brits say, "a serious bit of kit."
