Forum member jh36 has been campaigning front-engine Porsches in NASA’s Mid-Atlantic region for many years. This particular 1983 Porsche 944 refuses to quit. Together they’ve collected many class victories over the years, along with a few bruises—it is racing after all. It’s been launched off the top of the Roller Coaster at Virginia International Raceway, met a wall at Summit Point Motorsports Park, and recently detonated an engine in the most impressive fashion at Dominion Raceway. But car and driver are not done. With a new engine sourced from one of the car’s long-lost competitors, jh36 and his 944 will be competing in this year’s Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge.
