The Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge Presented by Grassroots Motorsports is roughly two weeks away, October 24-25. However, you can still sign up and join the field that includes this Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray of Dallas Reed.
Only one rule reigns supreme at UTCC: car and driver must pass a safety inspection. That’s it. All powertrains are good, and the hybrid one in this E-Ray is more than welcome.
Straight from the factory, the E-Ray produces 655 horsepower and 595 lb.-ft. of torque, and does zero to 60 in just 2.5 seconds. With numbers like that, Dallas hasn’t touched the power part of the performance equation whatsoever. In fact, he probably hasn’t had time as he bought the E-Ray only a few weeks ago.
What mods did Dallas do? Just Apex VS-5RS wheels and Vitour P1 tires. He says he’s running “295/25/19 on 11s and 345/25/19 on 13s.”
During the short stretch that Dallas has had the E-Ray, he won the title of Grand Champion at LS Fest.
“Ran it at a couple events now and to say it is very good would be an understatement,” Dallas adds.
Dallas Reed will see just how fast his E-Ray is when he competes in the Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge on October 24-25 at NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky, alongside the Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials Nationals Powered by Hagerty.
