Although the BMW 128i wasn’t the most powerful option in the 1-Series lineup, less can still be more when it comes to driver enjoyment, right?

Add on that this 128i has only been driven some 21,500 miles and comes fitted with the factory Sport package, and this could be a fun-to-drive runabout for years to come.

The car is billed as being in unmodified condition and comes with an accident-free history.

....and it's an automatic. My hips aren't that bad yet.

+1

As a current owner of a 128i, I would hold out for a manual (even if they're fairly tough to find). The E90 is probably a better choice for a do-everything daily (bigger back seat, available AWD, etc) if you're shopping for an automatic. The 1-series, with it's shorter wheelbase and lighter weight, is certainly the more fun car, and very usable if you don't need a ton of space, but it has more of a playtoy feel that I believe a manual compliments to a greater degree. That is a nice, low mileage example though!

My understanding is that the 6AT in these cars is a GM unit that most seemingly aren't terribly impressed with... but admittedly, I've never driven the auto version, so maybe I'm wrong?
