Sure, you could autocross something like a Miata or a GR86, but why not compete with something a little different, like this Chevy Impala SS?

Built as a tribute to the Hurst/Olds of yore, this Impala is powered by a 440-horsepower 383 cubic-inch stroker engine mated to a 4L60E 4-speed transmission–with Lightning Rods, of course.

Suspension and brakes have also been upgraded, with tubular control arms, heavy-duty springs and four-piston big brake kits on all four corners consisting of 13-inch rotors up front and 12-inch rotors out back.

Currently living in Ontario, Canada, this 1995 Chevrolet Impala SS is listed for sale on Hagerty Marketplace with an asking price of $14,500.

That Oldsmobile Cruiser grille is a definite downgrade.  The SS grille is reet.

In reply to Appleseed :

Painting over the headlights and turn signals to mimic quad headlights certainly didn't do it any favors.

The Pro Stock wars of Glidden and Shepherd also helped the marketing.
