Want a competitive track car, but don’t want to do all the work of building one yourself? How about this Porsche 996 GT3?

All the heavy lifting has been done, with upgrades including a fully automatic fire suppression system, Motion Control Suspension adjustable struts, a full roll cage and more.

Per the seller, the GT3 is capable of running a 57.9 lap of Lime Rock Park, and previously won two SCCA club races while running in the T1 class.

Located Lakeville, Connecticut, this 2004 Porsche 911 GT3 is listed at $120,001.

That's STEEP for a 996 cup. 80k car max IMO.

Not like Isringhausen is the wholesale warehouse from a pricing perspective.

I agree it's a bit much but it's not a cup car, it's a normal gt3 built into a race car. What exactly that means for the value I don't know, assuming it still has a title it could still be registered and street driven which probably makes it worth more than a cup car. But good condition, low mileage gt3s are only selling for about what the asking price on this.

I can see a halo seat and a full cage, and a stock-looking dash.

I'm not quite sure why, but this car rubs me the wrong way. 

Perhaps it's that somebody would tear up a perfectly good streetable track car and make it a track-only machine... when they could have just bought the cup car. (to be fair, there are no interior pics. It might be a very tidy, mostly stock interior fitted back around the cage... but why would they? No interior is required per ST2 right?)

Perhaps it's that it's had tons of money poured into it, and is turning the lap time of a GLTC club TR car, while using much wider slicks?

Perhaps it's just the silver fastener heads sticking out on the bolted down lexan windshield?

I quite like 996 GT3s. Perhaps it's just that this car is a reminder that I don't have one. 10 years ago when I got my first real job, they were in the $50k range. Now it's 120 for a track rat? There's a reason it hasn't sold in the half-year it's been listed. You have a TON of other choices for the money, that can be both comfortable on the street and turn quicker laps while running street tires.
