Your Projects: A Wrapped, Battle-Scarred Boxster

Don't let that pretty wrap fool you, user Box4VIR's Porsche Boxster is a homebrewed track weapon through and through. During 10 years of ownership, Box4VIR has transformed the car from simple autocrosser to the full-on time trial racer that it is today.

This car made an appearance at last year's Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge where the engine, unfortunately, decided to blow up on the first lap. Undeterred, Box4VIR has already replaced the bad 2.5-liter engine with a good 2.7. The change required the relocation of the air intake, which ended up creating a pocket of low pressure on the roof, which then required the addition of vortex generators. Longer control arms and the required fender flares have also been added.

One thing that isn't going to be changed? Those sweet battle scars that grace the front-left side of Boxster.

We can appreciate Box4VIR's time trial project, even if we though won't be turning our Boxster into a race car.
