Do I need yellow fog lights? No. Do I still want them? Yes–because race car.

Many of us have drawings of our cars, but how often do people make their car look like a drawing?
A long, long time ago, our good friend Rob Ebersol drew a retro Miata for a feature about adding vintage touches to modern cars–or cars that were fairly modern when that story ran.

Rob added the appropriate retro touches, including meatballs, mesh wheels and roll bar that looked straight out of the 1969 SCCA Runoffs.
He also made the parking lights yellow.
We added similar meatballs to our Garage Rescue Miata late last year, and we have since followed his lead regarding the yellow lamps. We figured it would add a bit of color to the car and break up some of the whiteness.

The easy button for changing the color of a lamp: Lamin-x Protective Films.
We simply removed the lamps, gave them a good cleaning, and then applied the film. As promised, the film stretched to fit–and, as also stated in the instructions, could easily be removed and repositioned.
Then we just had to put everything back together.

Do it! I have some Lamin-x for our Civic Si's fog lights. :)
