Finally finished the paint job! Only took me 12 years to get around to it!
I was building this car to be a 2013 Challenge car. The reason I started to build this car was that I got a smokin’ deal on a set of custom axles for a Ford 8.8 diff, to Miata hubs, that would allow me to do the build under budget. Unfortunately, during the second shakedown drive, the nut behind the wheel, got a little loose, and broke one of said axles! The repair put me well north of challenge budget, but still quite reasonable for the beast that this car is. Details: LS1 from a 2000 Camaro. Acquired for $700 with all accessories, wiring harness and computer. (With spun rod bearing) Ford T5 Transmission, Quicktime bellhousing, Axles from The Driveshaft Shop, Generic coilovers from Summit Racing, Aluminum Radiator Summit Clearance for $75, Aluminum Ford 8.8” rear end from 2002 Explorer
