1979 Porsche 924

14

Picked this up from eBay for $600 and drove it from Seattle to Portland without a working alternator and down a cylinder (cracked valve, broken exhaust manifold flange, missing studs on exhaust manifold). It does have a fiberglass 924 Carrera GTS front end and fiberglass 944 rear quarters and I picked up some goodies from some 924/944 folks to make it better, like a mildly ported head, lumpier camshaft, header and exhaust. Combined with the 944 suspension and brake parts and a little MegaSquirt, it should be pretty light and quick when it is running again.

Hey, that's really cool, man. I've been looking at these or a 944 as a fun vehicle to track around in, hopefully I'll see you around sometime, we're in the same general area. Sweet car!

Wow...I remember the posts when you first picked this car up, but I had lost track of progress. Looking good! This should be a lot of fun when it is done; hopefully I will see it out at some local event someday.

Man this thing has come a long ways since I saw it in your garage. You're way ahead of me on progress. I've got some catching up to do. You can get that we will see each other at the track sometime though my friend :) I still need to come get that beer.
