Is that a stick-shift? It's damn near impossible to find a V-6/manual wagon. Nice car!
Thanks (guys). I'm pretty happy with it now that the suspension is what I wanted. Need to add a bit more HP now. And nope, not a stick- yes, they're extremely hard to find. Not too long ago there was a silver Sport trim with black leather and stick here locally for a darn good price. Joked I should buy it and re-sell it....
Nice ride. I love the mazda6 wagons. When I bought my mazdaspeed6 I was wishing it was availible in the wagon body style. I wonder if it would be possible to retrofit a mazdaspeed6 AWD driveline and engine to the wagon body...
Thanks for the comments Capt. Slow - I've really grown attached to the looks of it. As for swapping drivetrains- no go. At least not directly. The MazdaSpeed6 that you have was the true Asian/world market 'Atenza/6', built by Mazda in Japan. The only version of that car they brought to the US was the Speed6. My car is built on a North American only version of the platform that was built in Flat Rock Michigan at the joint Ford/Mazda plant. Some things will swap, but some things are different. For example, GTSpec makes an 'X' brace that ties the rear suspension together nicely- you can use it, I can't..... I joke that if I win the lottery I am going to swap the Speed6 AWD drivetrain under a wagon myself, and at the same time have professionals also converting another wagon to RWD.... :-)
