interesting ride. There were no 944s yet, were there? Let alone 944 turbos. Cool.

944's were in the1st year of production (europe only, US got them in 1983) and the lines were still ramping up. The 82 924 turbo benefited from this by getting allot of the early 944 new parts, like the ventilation system and suspension updates. This 931 was blessed with a mildly cheesy marketing package , and some great real options as well like leather sport seats, small quad spoke sport steering wheel, and upgraded blau stereo with three, yes three , speakers and a power antenna! 16" wheels, compact spare tire. I suspect there were some non published internal differences as well, as this one has always made a bit more power than it should...
