1988 Mazda 323 GTX

Bought it built. Typically the exact opposite of what I do with cars. But in this case… I lucked out. Picked this 323 GTX up with the expectations of having to swap in a new motor. Owner claimed motor was dying, even with a very very very recent rebuild. So I test drove it, brought it home, tinkered and fixed a few oddities in vac/boost control and wiring and it runs FINE. I’ve been driving it all over these first 3 days of ownership and love it. Hooray for the 80s! Anyone have some mixtape cassettes they don’t want anymore? I want to rock out with this sweet Blaupunkt cassette deck… Oh… parts list from previous owners (the good stuff): Centerforce clutch Mazdaspeed LSD in rear Corksport shifter bushings Ground Control coil overs Koni adjustable shocks Cusco adjustable camber plates - front and rear Cusco rear strut tower bar Cusco front and rear sway bars Cusco front lower a-arm brace Braided steel clutch and brake lines Custom cold air intake Custom exhaust Reich computer Poly bushings all around Mazdaspeed engine mounts Motegi wheels with Toyo tires Battery relocated to trunk

I think this might be my father's old GTX. That car was a blast!
