My wife had a 78 carolla SR5/5speed lift back fun fast car it only had like 1.8 in I think I was to yong to really enjoy it .
Here she is, the Celi. I dragged her home one day after a moment of weakness on Craigslist. At first, my husband Chuck, thought I was completely insane. But now, after a period of adjustment, he has come to realize that I am completely insane, and I have really good taste in cars. I have not decided what motor I should put in her. I am pretty sure her original motor is toast, when I checked the oil I got mud. She is a rustbucket. She does not run. And I know I am in way over my head. Such is love. Ces’t la vie!

The guys at Zero Garage down in Georgia put on a classic Japanese car show every other month. They currently have one of these and are swapping in a motor from a different make. You should check them out or give them a call. I believe they are working on producing motor mounts and swap kits when they are finished.
Sweet ride! I've got a 73 as my track car. LC Engineering can help a lot when it comes to your performance engine options. Basically as far as price per performance a 22R is the way to go for an N/A setup.
Congrats, I have always liked them. And the motor isn't toast, it's enviormentaly friendly.
You know what would be perfect under the snoot? One of those Lexus 4 cam V8's with a Supra 5 speed behind it. Allthe pieces are available from Australia. You're welcome. :-D
Ya know, I have a longing to create a Celexus, but I have heard that the special one-off bellhousing to pair the lexus engine with my 5-speed stock transmission is excessively expensive plus shipping from Australia, so I don't think Chuck will go for it. But, then again, I can always hope that I am wrong on more than one count. :-)
If this isn't the perfect candidate for a General Lee tribute, then I've never seen one.
Too bad you live on the East Coast, I have a 3TC you can have. the No.1 piston ring land is burned. I ran lean under boost(fuel tank was on empty while turning up a long hill in Napa Valley. The motor was strong at 300HP before. I have not driven it since. Swap in your slugs and be good to go. I've replaced mine with a GEN4 GM V8.
