Wow on the price for the M5.

Sure, a 2005 Ford GT sold for $495,000 at the Mecum Florida Summer Special last weekend.
However, if you look at the other end of the spectrum, there were also some deals to be had for under $10k.
What were they? Here are five that caught our eye.
1980 Subaru 1600 DL Wagon
$6600
When’s the last time you saw one of these things, let alone in this kind of condition? The odometer reads less than 50,000 miles, and it would assuredly be the talk of the town at your local cars and coffee.
1980 Ford Mustang
$3850
Have you seen what Fox-body Mustangs are going for? This one sold for way less than some of those prices. Under the hood is the four-cylinder rated for only 88 horses, but it has just 31,000 miles on the clock.
Besides, this ride will still turn heads with its retro-chic rad colors.
1998 Mazda RX-7
$9350
Yes, it’s not a hardtop, nor does it have the turbo, but when the top’s down, the smiles abound, right?
This is a highly original, largely unmodified RX-7, too–a rare commodity.
2001 BMW M5
$3300
Sure, this example has some miles–163,821, to be exact–but it’s an M5 at less than $5K. Yes, it has a salvage title. But it’s still got that nearly 400-horsepower 5.0-liter V8 and a six-speed manual with an M5 nameplate.
Think of it at the very worst as a project car and at the very best an inexpensive fun car. Hagerty prices an example in fair condition at $15,300.
1992 Dodge Daytona IROC R/T
$4400
This checks off many of the boxes you’d desire from a rad-era car, and for under $5K, too. A turbocharged, 2.2-liter inline-four rated for 224 horses. A five-speed manual. And less than 50,000 miles.
For the Mopar fanatics, this is a must-have.
I'll take both the m5 and the fox. Early fox chassis are my favorite of the series--a coupe would be better, but this is still sexy.
In reply to RaabTheSaab :
I somehow managed to time buying a Foxbody before they really went up. It helped that I got a smoking deal from a friend.

The M5 sold for the price of the wheels. That's so, so far below market it's not even funny. Seller chose the wrong venue, they'd have done better putting it on Craigslist.
The more and more I look over results from Mecum, there are at least a few people who have gotten some absolute steals.

No kidding. Salvage title or not, that is absolute highway robbery at that price.
Steal for that Fox Mustang, too. It looks super clean, and I've been watching those cars. Even with a 4-banger, that's easily a 5-figure car on FB Marketplace.
